Winnie never questioned the situation once. All 5 pounds of her came ready to claim her rightful place in her new home. DOODLES, he of the bottomless stomach, looked on in a puzzled kind of way as the tiny dog waddled up to his dish while he was eating from it and bumped him out of the way.

As time went on, Doodles reclaimed his position as "king of everything all the time especially if it can be eaten", EXCEPT when Winnie is on the bed under the covers...then WATCH OUT! Winnie would attack a grizzly bear if it disturbed her beauty sleep under the comforter.

Despite this apparent inconsistency, Winnie is kind of our 'eternal puppy.' She's small and youthful looking even as she approaches canine middle age. She is a best friend and live beanbag to both the kids, even when Xander treats her like a couch cushion. She is not fond of strangers in her home, but eventually she will make friends with you and your lap becomes hers.

Winnie also enjoys assisting Quizzy on her hyper-vigilant yard patrols. Her sonorous little yodel adds to the houndy chorus that the neighbors know so well.
